Performance & Recovery Lab 12.11.2020

We have some updates Dear Performance & Recovery Lab community, Just a quick couple of updates...... We will be CLOSED on Tuesday, September 8th. Please plan accordingly to keep up with your adjustment and treatment schedule because life is better when you're well adjusted :) Onto the next... Recently our POS Application was hacked and although no client credit card information was compromised, several clients received fraudulent charges from PR Lab. Unfortunately this has created multiple issues for those members affected and also our ability to charge/capture payment. As a result, we will no longer be utilizing Square to accept payments. In the interim, we'll rely on multiple platforms that many of you already utilize. We'll be using Apple Pay, Venmo and of course, old fashioned cash. We will continue to utilize the existing scheduler until further notice. Thank you so much for sticking with us. We look forward to continuing to support each other during these challenging times.

We’re OPEN & made some changes due to COVID-19 Dear Performance & Recovery Lab community, Just a quick note to let you know that we are still able and allowed to see clients. We continue to provide the services and quality of care that you've come to enjoy - with some changes.... Here's how we are adapting to the current situation for the health and safety of all: We will be limiting days and hours to Tuesday and Thursday In addition to our regular cleaning routines, we have added additional cleaning measures by putting in place the following protocols effective immediately: - When entering and exiting the facility there is now a "wipe in and wipe out" policy. Meaning the use of a sanitizing wipe as you come in is mandatory. - Use the sanitizing spray to wipe equipment before and after use. We encourage you to please help us, if you can, by bringing your own supply of sanitizing wipes and a towel from home. - Washing your hands frequently and the need to cover coughs and sneezes using the inside of your shirt neck is not negotiable. If you are shirtless please have a towel handy in case a sneeze or cough comes on. Just because someone sneezes or coughs does not mean they are infected, it's also allergy season, unfortunately. - Most importantly, to ensure the health and safety of our families and community, we ask of anyone with any type of cold/flu symptoms to please stay home and communicate with us. If you’re looking for more ways to protect yourself and your loved ones, check out the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) website. Thank you so much for sticking with us. We look forward to supporting each other during these challenging times. In health and COVID'ness times PR Lab Team

We’ve made some changes due to COVID-19 Dear Performance & Recovery Lab community, There's research that shows the immune supporting and boosting benefits of both adjustments and soft tissue work, so let's do what we can to bolster ourselves and loved ones during this time - we will continue to accept appointments and serve you.... Here's what we're doing to continue to serve you and your loved ones. We have adopted BGB CrossFit's policy regarding entry and exit of the building. Should there be a shutdown that forces closure of the facility, we do have a contingency plan in place. Until then, it's 'business as usual in this Co-Vid time.' "In addition to our regular cleaning routines, we have added additional cleaning measures by putting in place the following protocols effective immediately: - When entering and exiting the facility there is now a "wipe in and wipe out" policy. Meaning the use of a sanitizing wipe as you come in is mandatory. We will have cans in multiple places for your use. - Use the sanitizing spray to wipe equipment before and after use. We encourage you to please help us, if you can, by bringing your own supply of sanitizing wipes and sweat towels from home. We do have plenty currently, but your assistance will ensure a healthy level of back up at the gym and enable us to keep the gym open. - Most importantly, to ensure the health and safety of our families and community, we ask of anyone with any type of cold/flu symptoms to please stay home. - We will not be accepting any out of town drop-ins until further notice. - All coaches will be spraying things down throughout the day that hands may touch and you may not think about. Buttons on water machine, refrigerator doors, door handles, light switches etc. - Lastly, the floors will be fully mopped daily. We assure you that we will continue to monitor developments and do our part to keep the doors open and keep you as safe and comfortable as we can. If you’re looking for more ways to protect yourself and your loved ones, check out the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) website. Thank you so much for sticking with us. We look forward to supporting each other during these challenging times.

Want to lift more with less exertion and exhaustion? Consider adding soft tissue scraping to your weekly recovery routine. Here's a small snippet of the benefits of soft tissue scraping as it specifically applies to your 'Performance & Recovery:'... "Muscle Scraping and Muscle Performance One study found that muscle scraping may be beneficial for boosting weightlifting performance. Subjects took part in a seven-week study that following a traditional weightlifting program focusing on compound movements such as barbell squats and deadlifts. Researchers found that the subjects were able to lift more weight without an increase in perceived exhaustion. What’s more, a few key biochemical markers changed: Immuno-globulin A increased, suggesting an improvement in the body’s immune response. Meanwhile, creatine kinase and blood urea decreased, suggesting less protein (amino acid) breakdown. While the researchers believe that muscle scraping had a positive effect on weightlifting performance, there is the issue of the size of the sample. Only five male subjects were tested and they all had previous weightlifting experience. Still, the results are promising for anyone who wants to naturally improve their weightlifting performance and support post-workout recovery via increased blood flow."
