Childbirth can be one of the most empowering experiences for a woman. I know it was for me. I’ve never felt weaker, yet never felt stronger, never felt so close... to God as I did in those hours bringing my children into the world. I am forever thankfully for the incredible women who were by my side in those moments. They were a pillar I could lean on, a steady place I put my full trust. My life and the life of my child were in their care. Through all the experiences, the fear, the joy, the pain, the relief... they were there. Whether they held my hand through transition, gently poured water over my neck in between back labor contractions, or calmly gave me space to just let me do my thing.... they were there. Constantly reminding me that I was strong enough, steadily encouraging, present in every moment. I would have never had the amazing experiences I did had it not been for you. They sacrifice so much, yet they give us women even more. Thank you Carlene, April, and Holly for being there in those moments. For all you’ve done and for all you do. Happy National Midwife Week

Lots of mums tell us they worry about breastfeeding because they can’t see what their baby is getting. It is very rare that a mum won’t make enough milk for her baby. So although you can’t see what is going in there are others ways to can tell if your baby is feeding well. Take a look at their nappy!!
