This coming October 26th will mark TWENTY YEARS of Sam Shortline Excursion Train’s service across Crisp and Sumter Counties. We actually began in August of 2000... with the first meeting of the Southwest Georgia Railroad Excursion Authority, which oversees the SAM. We planned and organized and built and finally began train operations two years later. That’s how long I’ve been working on the railroad. See more
