Not only is Providence live-streaming classes to our Remote School students, but our worship times as well. To do so takes a team of tech-savvy students who pull it all together so that virtual students can participate while at home. It's an excellent way for them to use technology and serve their classmates at the same time! #EquipToThrive

It's Draft Day in Mrs. Gotfredson's 7th grade math class! Her students are "drafted" onto a team and earn yardage by winning math challenges, collaborating well as a team, and working hard. Head Football Coach Jonathan Beverly even stopped by her classes to talk about teamwork. At the end of the school year, the winning team gets a "tailgate party" on the greenspace.

Kindergarten spent the afternoon on the greenspace today and discovered there's a lot to learn about pumpkins! They measured and decorated them, made fun snacks, and even felt the gooey insides!

The yearbook team works diligently every year to pull off a great and often award-winning school yearbook. Having already met three deadlines this year, the team took a day off to relax and paint some pumpkins on the greenspace!

Our Director of Encouragement, Mr. Lussi, doesn't just inspire our students, staff, and alumni. He also reaches out to show appreciation to folks in the community. Today he presented a plaque to Officer Almedin "AJ" Ajanovic from our Lilburn Police Department. Officer Ajanovic was lauded by local officials and covered by multiple media outlets for the bravery he showed this weekend, helping to rescue the conductors of the train that derailed nearby in downtown Lilburn. Thanks for encouraging others, Mr. Lussi. And thanks for your bravery, Officer Ajanovic!

Fifth grade math students are having fun applying mathematical, technological, collaborative, and creative skills for their Structure and Design Project. Each group is given a VEX IQ Kit to build a structure of their choice, and each piece is set at a certain price. The students insert various formulas into a Google Sheet to keep track of their budget and each piece that has been used. It's STEM in math class! By the way, did you know that Newsweek ranked Providence in the top 10 percent of STEM schools in the nation for 2020?

Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Cleveland's science class are studying actual events in nature, including natural disasters and extinction. Soon, they'll transform their research into news reports or expert testimony. It's one thing to acquire new information. It's another to present it creatively in front of others. Collaboration and communication are an essential part of learning! #EquipToThrive

Our 8th-10th graders took a break from academics this afternoon to focus on serving others. Students assembled cleaning and hygiene kits for families in need, made gowns for medical personnel, beaded bracelets for an international organization, and built items for habitat homes. It was time well spent. Thank you, students, for your hard work and ministry to others today! #EquipToThrive

When our elementary students go to chapel, it's not just for a worship experience; it's to be part of a worshiping community. Providence believes that children aren't just the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today and that they can engage in meaningful worship and understand truthful teaching, even in the youngest grades! #EquipToThrive

Each of our students is created in the image of God, with unique interests, learning styles, and gifts that can glorify God. What a privilege it is to partner with families to help students learn and grow. #EquipToThrive

Encounter didn't look like what we expected this year. Even though students didn't go away to camps but wore masks while staying on campus, our middle and high school students worshipped, learned from God's word, and enjoyed time with their classmates. Encounter is an experience of fun and connection at Providence. More than anything, we want every student to have a refreshing encounter with Christ. Will you join us in praying for them as they reflect on what they've learned this week?
