One has to decide salvation via Mt. Sinai, The Law, or via Mt. Zion, Grace. By Mt. Sinai, the Law, remember Jesus said you must be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

. . . people have to decide where they would rather meet with God - At Mt. Sinai, or Mt. Zion? At Mt. Sinai, you have to keep the Law, the whole Law -- At Zion, it is on the basis of what Jesus had done. Then we can dare to approach God with as much confidence as with reverence. Hebrews 10: 19-22, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and ...since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. We stand before God without sin, & have been reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ -- Moses consecrated the people to prepare them to approach God - We’ve been consecrated by the sole virtue of our relationship to the risen Jesus Christ. We are then free to worship, to love, to ask for whatever we need. As in the words of John Newton in our closing hymn: "Let us love & sing & wonder, Let us praise the Savior’s name! He has hushed the Law’s loud thunder, He has quenched Mt. Sinai’s flame." The only way to gain access to God is through faith in Jesus Christ. He is our, your mediator; There is no other way to have a relationship with God except through Jesus Christ. That's why Hebrews 12 closes with a warning: our God is a consuming fire.. Don’t refuse Him, He is coming again! See more

The message today from Exodus 19: 7-15 - "Danger Beyond This Point." Annie Dillard, an American author of prose, poetry & criticism, in her book of essays, Teaching a Stone to Talk, writes she worries many have forgotten how dangerous it is to come close to the presence of God. ... "we should all be wearing crash helmets. Ushers should issue life preservers & signal flares; they should lash us to our pews"

Through the person of His Son, Jesus, the transcendent God is immanent; He said to His disciple Phillip, He who has seen Me has seen the Father.(1) Without giving up His Divine nature, Jesus took on our human nature and entered fully our lost condition. yet remaining sinless Veiled in flesh the Godhead see; Hail th’incarnate Deity, Pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel.(2) As a man Jesus revealed God to us; as a man He suffered all the indignities of life on earth; as a man He suffered and died on the cross for our sins. 1. John 14:9 2. Hark the Herald Angels Sing, (Charles Wesley, George Whitefield, Mendelssohn)

The message today, as we continue with the theme Beginning with Moses and the Prophets, we come to Exodus 19: 1 - 6. "Who Are We?" -- Peter takes these words of Moses directly and applies them to the Church, to the believers in Christ Jesus as we see in our second Scripture, 1 Peter 2: 9 - 12

Psalm 96 calls us to joyful worship - Sing, expressing great pleasure & happiness. Sing with joy because all glory belongs to Him, the Lord our God. The angels sang; did they dance also at creation? The host of heaven, (how many? millions & billions they couldn't be counted?) sang at the birth of the King, God incarnate.

God delivered the Israelites first from bondage, then, gave them the law. If God would have said first, If you obey Me fully, then I’ll deliver you. There wouldn’t have been an exodus. They wouldn’t have been able to keep His covenant - So, He saved them first, and then called them to obey His Law. We should be able to see in the Exodus how the law functions in our lives. He first rescues, saves us from our sins; then He teaches how to live for His glory.
