Meet our newest project! The Workers' Cottage is an ~adorable~ example of blue collar housing in the late 1800s. Over the years, several additions were caterpillared on to the back, so our job is to carefully peel back the additions in preparation for a full restoratoion of the original cottage. The owners plan to faithfully rebuild the back end to modern standards! Should be a fun one! #savetheworkerscottage

And now she's down! Just like that. As we brought down the last of the walls we talked about our building's namesake, Mama Lizzie. So many people have come by to tell us stories about this beloved woman. She held such an honored space in the coffee bluff community, and still holds space in the memories and hearts of the folks who knew her. It is hard to see her home fade away, yet we are proud to steward these materials into a new home for our client, Mama Lizzie's daughter. ...Now a grandmother herself, Mary continues her mother's legacy of care. Her spirit and strength give us purpose. If you pass the site this weekend, please take a moment of reverence for Mama Lizzie's house, and remember how much love and meaning a building can hold. Send your support to her daughter as she honors her past and plans her future, a new building: a vessel to hold all the memories of the past and possibilities for her family's future.
