Policy Change: If your dog is boarding with us - We are now requiring your pet to have a quick-release collar (see picture) and that your pet's name is on a tag on the collar (or on the collar itself). There are local pet supply stores where you can buy a small tag and engrave it yourself. Harnesses do not remain on the pet while boarding due to safety issues.... If you come in for their boarding reservation without a collar and tag, we will provide your pet with one and that item will be added to your invoice. COVID-19 Update 7/20/2020: Due to COVID cases locally, we would like to keep you updated on what the staff of RVA is doing for our protection and yours: Masks must be worn when entering the hospital ... To limit people in the hospital, we’d prefer to have only one pet parent accompany your pet to RVA for their appointment Please weigh your own pet when you come in for your appointment For everyone’s safety, please practice social distancing (maintain 6 feet apart) Depending on the flow of our schedule at the time of your appointment, we may opt to take your pet to our Treatment Area for its services instead of seeing you in an exam room We have temporarily removed our complimentary beverage station, the toys from our kids table and magazines from our lobby We are continuing to frequently disinfect commonly touched areas If an Employee is running a fever or not feeling well, they are asked to stay home If you are running a fever, have been exposed to someone who is sick, or are showing any symptoms, please reschedule your appointment. If you have an urgent need, please call us so we can determine how to best treat your pet. Our Medical Director and Hospital Administrator continue to stay abreast on Covid safety and information from reliable sources and change our protocols as needed. We are sorry for any inconvenience these changes may cause you. Please let us know if you have special circumstances, so we may try to accommodate you. Please allow extra time for your visit.
