Where do I find the spiritual aspect on my asana's practice? How come this yoga flow that is so physical can be called expression of the soul? How can I transmit that rather a workout this is essentially and primarily a work-in? I have had those questions , pretty sure you have had them too . Once you ( I ) arrive to my mat, willing to be present , notch down the in and out noise , once I explore my vehicle ( body) and realize how I feel, my kind of thougths, the battle ...of my ego saying " I have , I must, I should" , once I stop competing with myself, once I finally take a deep long breath in and consciously start to experience the renewal and how adventurous is the fresh start of the NOW, my practice becomes spiritual, and then it opens up to acceptance and from there it blooms in compassion. I place my intention, the one that I may forget in the midst of the flow but instantly it will return in a balance pose or in child pose or when I feel fatigued or when I'm finally in Savasana and let go what's not serving me anymore....there is my spiritual practice again , and again and again. And as I always say just having a moment ( hour or 2 or maybe 30 minutes) in your mat, without cursing or having sad thoughts or feeling in a hurry, it prepares yourself to express your soul. A coherent dialogue between Body and Mind , is the soil of the Spirit. Once you experience that , you also know what to give , the best of you , that there is your spiritual practice too. .
