Some of you might remember this hungry little Black Swallowtail caterpillar we found munching on celery at Tasty Farms back in August. About two weeks ago, we found its chrysalis and decided to take it home to see if we could catch it hatch. (Swipe left) ... Early Monday morning, this beautiful black swallowtail decided to grant our wish. It hatched shortly after sunrise and we released in our garden to unfurl and dry out its wings before taking off to enjoy the rest of its life cycle.
