Fireworks frighten Fido? Spend July 4th with us! Fireworks and sparklers are not allowed in Georgia's State Parks, so your pup won't be scared by loud booms. Instead, you can enjoy sparkling stars and glowing fireflies. https://gastateparks.org/ParkRules
We are sorry to announce that we will not be having fireworks at the park this year. We apologize for any inconvenience!
During this difficult time, being in nature can be especially comforting. Per Gov. Brian Kemp’s Executive Order, outdoor activity is identified as an essential activity, as long as visitors follow CDC social-distancing guidelines. As a result, most State Parks and Historic Sites remain open, including most trails, lakes, golf courses, campgrounds and cabins. Visitor centers, museums, playgrounds and some other amenities are closed. For the latest details, visit GaStateParks.org/alerts and follow the Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites Facebook page. You may also call the park office for assistance.
Might need to try some of these this weekend!
Our Parks are Open. We know being in nature is comforting at this time, so all DNR-managed Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites remain open. Trails, fishing d...ocks, campsites, cabins, golf courses and other amenities are available for those seeking fresh air. Social Distancing Visitor centers and museums are limiting the number of people inside, moving check-in stations outside, and making other modifications to keep you safe. Help us follow CDC guidelines by maintaining a distance of at least six feet among other guests and our rangers. Visiting Soon? Overnight guests may pay remaining balances online and enjoy the convenience of going straight to their cabin, campsite or yurt. Safety is our Priority. Our facilities are being properly sanitized, and ranger programs are limited to 10 participants or less. In-person check-in stations are being moved outside park offices. Get the Latest Updates. Thank you for understanding and helping us to remain open, providing outdoor recreation for all to enjoy. Check GaStateParks.org/Alerts for more updates.
House Keeping Positions open. If your interested come by the office at the Seminole State Park. 7870 State Park Drive Donalsonville, Ga. 39845 and ask for application. We will be taking applications for the next couple of weeks
Definition of not a happy camper
As most of you know, check-out time in the campground is 12 Noon. So to help campers with children have a little less stress when they are packing up on Sundays, we here at S.S.P. have come up with the "Round-about Ranger" program. Every Sunday this month from 10-11 AM, you can send your kids to hang out with the Park Naturalist. He'll be set up at the campground chapel with various animal skulls and artifacts that the kids can see and touch before heading out on a short hike at 10:15 to learn fun facts about animal track identification....TOTALLY FREE!!!
Full slate of events this weekend! It all starts with a "Stars Over Seminole" hike on Friday night from 8-9:30 PM and is $5 per person. Then on Saturday, check out our baby eagles from a kayak(the best view of the nest) on the "All About Eagles" kayak tour from 10-11:30 AM. In the afternoon, guests can learn some fun facts about the days before Lake Seminole was created on the "History Under the Lake" paddle from 2:30-4 PM. The final event this Saturday is a "Sunset Snapshot Paddle" from 6:30-8 PM. Each of the kayak tours is $15 per person. Call one of our friendly clerks at (229)861-3137 for more info or to book your tour spot.
You have to LOVE sunrises on Lake Seminole!
My special talent!
Hey! Did you know we have a gift shop? Check out our new shirts and silicone cups!
May need to try some of these in the near future!
