One of the coolest projects we have done out here at Pasaquan. One of my highlights of the weekend, I got to talk with Lonnie Holley about why St. EOM was an a...rtistic genius and why Pasaquan should be preserved. Also, watching all the musicians channel the energies of St. EOM and Pasaquan to create this vinyl we will be releasing info in the next couple of months. Important message from Pasaquan To all our Pasaquan friends and family: First the bad news: We regret to announce that after careful consideration of the health and safety of our supporters and visitors that we have decided to cancel Pasafest 2020 due to the risks caused by the ongoing coronavirus crisis. If you pre-purchased a ticket through Eventbrite, please monitor the email account you used to purchase your ticket. We will send an email to everyone who pre-purchased tickets with instructions to receive your refund. Now the exciting news: A couple of weeks ago, the musical artists scheduled to play Pasafest visited Pasaquan, and each performed socially-distanced sets. Their sets were professionally filmed and recorded for you to enjoy from home. They will be released via social media outlets throughout the fall. So be sure to follow Friends of Pasaquan on Facebook and Instagram Additionally, we’ve partnered with Institute 193 to release a limited-edition, multi-colored vinyl LP containing highlights of these performances. Each will be individually numbered, and we will offer incentives exclusive to those who pre-order the album. Expect an announcement next month on how you can place pre-orders, the price of the record, and the specific incentives. We expect the albums will be ready to ship this winter. In the weeks and months to come, we will also be highlighting the wide array of visual works created by the visual artists who were unable to attend Pasafest. We will provide links to the artists’ preferred online marketplaces so that you may purchase their works yourself, and help fund an industry that’s been hit particularly hard by the coronavirus pandemic. Finally, Pasaquan will be reopening with regular hours (10-5pm Friday, Sat, and Sunday) starting this Friday, August 21st, 2020. We do ask that if you visit Pasaquan that you wear an appropriate face covering and maintain social distancing guidelines for your protection as well as ours. Sincerely, Michael Mcfalls and Charles Fowler. Thank you: Columbus State University Kohler Foundation, Inc. Georgia Council for the Arts Also Thank you to Matthew McCabe and his team for recording all the audio and Matt Hanner for capturing all the magic.
