If you are planning to do any fireworks on New Year’s eve, this post is for you!! The cutoff time in Georgia for fireworks on January 1st is 1:00am. It is NOT and never will be legal for there to be any celebratory gun fire within the City limits. Each year, there are cases where innocent people, often children, are killed as a result of celebratory gunfire. What goes up must come down and often times damage is done either to an individual or property. Let's prevent that f...rom happening in our city. Finally, please enjoy the welcoming in of the the New Year responsibly. We are entering 2021 with plenty of ride share options, so if you are drinking, please do not drive.

We are thankful to have some of the most caring and thoughtful officers here in our police department. A few motorists tonight that were stopped for various traffic violations, were surely surprised to see blue lights behind them - but even more surprised when our officers gave them gift cards to help spread the love this holiday season. These officers used their own hard earned money just to help put a smile on a few faces this cold Christmas Eve. Please have a safe and Merry Christmas!
