This i...s just the beginning of a school wide gardening project for grades k-5. October is the celebration month for Red Ribbon Week to promote a healthy and drug free lifestyle!! Red Ribbon Week at South Columbus is October 26-30, 2020. This year's theme is "Be Happy, Be Brave, Be DRUG FREE!" We look forward to all student's showing their "Eagle Pride" by participating in this year's drug free campaign!

Today our administrators were delighted to receive some much needed donations from Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. We received masks for every SCES student, individual hand sanitizers, disinfecting wipes and cases of bottled water. We are beyond grateful, thankful and blessed to have so much community support! We know that SCES teachers can VIRTUALLY do anything but they are also superheroes in disguise! On Friday, our co-principals provided a snack cart filled with goodies and hand delivered them to every faculty member to show their appreciation of the SCES superstar staff! We are proud to announce that our Sgt. SOAR recipient for the month of October is Coach David Lane. Coach Lane has been an invaluable member of our faculty, ensuring safeguards are put in place to keep all of our SOARing Eagles as safe as possible during these times. He is also the BEST PE Coach we could ever ask for, always dedicated to providing our students with life long lessons to promote healthy lifestyle choices both in school and beyond.
