HEADS UP PACENTI rim owners. The SL23 and SL25's were great riding rims that folks loved, unfortunately many of them (especially the SL23's) eventually cracked. The new owners of Pacenti are trying to make it right by the folks who purchased those rims, and they're offering a pretty good deal on new rims/wheelsets. While I'm not building wheels at the moment, if you bought a set of SL23s or SL25s and want to take advantage of this offer I'll assist with whatever proof of purchase info they need. You'll have to find someone else to build them for you, and I'm happy to make recommendations if needed.

GET STOKED :: Registration for the 2019 Middle GA Epic will open SATURDAY NIGHT! We've got a good addition to this year too, a shorter 20ish mile fun ride, more details on that will be posted on the site this weekend. www.MiddleGAEpic.com

The Hellhole Gravel Grind Stage Race got postponed due to that hurricane that blew thru, which means you still have a chance to get in on this year's event!!!

I've never ridden a Pegoretti, and to be honest I never really 'got them' aesthetically - but I don't get most art. I'm an engineer, my brain just doesn't work that way. BUT - I've always highly respected Dario. Everything I've ever read about him from those that know him said the same thing: he was a great guy. Incredibly talented. Compassionate. Funny. Smart. And his credentials in the cycling world are unparalleled - he's forgotten more about bikes than most of us will ever know. I also hugely admired that he was only interested in doing what he does - road racing bikes. MTBs, gravel grinders, randoneers, artisanal city bikes, etc - those weren't his thing, and despite their popularity and potential to make money on them, he stayed dedicated to where his heart was. We should all be so lucky. RIP Dario.

My shop lease runs out at the end of the month, meaning I'm moving out and getting rid of some old inventory! Check my eBay page to see what's available and snag yourself a deal on something. There's hubs hub DT Swiss and Hadley, rims from Stan's, HED, and Nox, and my last Specialized non-SCS rear derailleur hanger. I may have some additional bits and pieces added in the next few days, but this is all the 'big' stuff. https://www.ebay.com/sch/southern_wheelworks/m.html

Hey there folks! GET STOKED :: The Middle GA Epic is returning for it's third run on Feb 16th, 2019! We're about six months out, so now is a good time to start training for the 200k! This will be the biggest and best event yet with some great sponsors donating gear to be given away to racers! I'll get the Facebook event page up here in another week or so once I get a few more sponsors nailed down. Speaking of which - if you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring ...the event, get in touch! Till then, hit up www.MiddleGaEpic.com for details. In the mean time, here's the video the fine folks at Gravel Cyclist put together from this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOqmY9Atwjo

Your bike stuff is about to get more expensive. Hopefully, as/if US materials production can increase the prices will come down.

I love Ergon grips, been using them exclusively on my MTBs for about 9 years now. But I feel like they missed the mark on this saddle, as far as the name is concerned. They should call it the Bidet, not the SM E-Mountain. With the placement of that hole, on a wet ride, Bidet is way more appropriate. And what does E-Mountain mean anyhow? Silly Germans. http://reviews.mtbr.com/ergon-sm-saddle-line-launched

Howdy there folks. I may not be building wheels at the moment, but I'll still be sharing useful info now and again. Today I give you Wera Hex Plus. If you're using any hex keys besides these, stop, and order a set of these. They're VASTLY superior, and they're reasonably priced too, they're not made out of unicorn horn or anything crazy like that. I've bought them from KC Tool in the past, tho I'm sure there's plenty of places to find them 'round the web. Check this video out to see what makes them special. And yes, the video is a bit boring, but I promise it's worth your time to watch. #ToolNerd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t82jTk3mP5E

Want a chance to score some sweet stuff for a big discount? Keep reading! I've decided to hit the pause button on building wheels for a while. With the overhead costs of the shop, only 24 hours in the day, and a day job, there's simply not enough profit to justify the time spent away from this little nugget and her mama. So, I'm taking a break and closing the shop. I am keeping all my tools and spokes (in storage) and will be getting back into building wheels at some point...Continue reading

I may or may not be answering emails or building wheels this week. Our new addition has joined the team and we're all still figuring out how it all works!
