Composting is a great way to reduce food waste and your carbon footprint! Compostable materials such as food and yard trimmings make up about half of disposed waste in the U.S. Remember that you need an even balance of carbon-rich brown materials and nitrogen-rich green materials to have a healthy compost pile. #TipTuesday #compost

Stop #3 on the Southface campus tour - The floor grates at the Eco Office entryways trap dirt and other particulates from people's shoes as they enter. The grates are a few steps long, so as people walk into the building, dirt from their shoes accumulates on the grate. This helps minimize the introduction of contaminants and maintains indoor air quality. #EcoOffice #buildingscience #IAQ
