But keep in mind that beyond a search for a cure, St. Baldrick's grants fund research to find more effective treatments. As you might imagine, getting rid of cancer can beat the crap out of children's bodies that are still developing and therefore they can suffer long term side effects such as hearing loss, damage to cardiac functionality, and increased risk of stroke or secondary cancers. Even if it's just few buck, it helps and the kids will know they have one more person supporting them in their every day fight against childhood cancer.
