Our project team worked closely with the Atlanta Fulton Library System and the community to receive input on the Milton branch library. Building materials were incorporated based on the aesthetics of the neighborhood and also included a public art component from the County's Public Art Program. DYK: Prisma Health’s new Dr. Raymond P.H. Bynoe STICU is Phase I of the Richland Campus’ ICU Master Plan. Great care was taken by the design team to create a unit that would environmentally support patients, staff, and their families focusing on infection control, therapeutic lighting, expanded room size, equipment placement; and the coordination and staff views of and access to their patients. A highlight of the design is the use of tunable lighting. Tunable lighting, wh...ich uses LED lighting to mimic the natural progression of daylight, is utilized throughout this new 18-bed unit. To date, research has shown that this type of lighting may help patients heal faster, decrease delirium, and have less long-term negative mental distress from being in the hospital. In order to address concerns surrounding the building’s current requirements for life safety, the restoration also involved replacing all M/E/P and fire protection systems with top-tier, state-of-the-ar...t designs, while also incorporating all required codes, ADA, seismic, and fresh air requirements. Originally built in 1935, Stevens & Wilkinson restored A. H. Stephens Historic Park famous Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Observation Tower.
