As our communities expand, trees and meadows are replaced with buildings and pavements. These surfaces create stormwater runoffrainfall that is not absorbed into the ground. The stormwater runoff flows across various landscapes, like sidewalks and parking lots picking up pollutants such as antifreeze, motor oil, fertilizers, and pesticides. In an effort to improve water quality, the city of Sandy Springs has tightened stormwater runoff regulations. The new standards are mo...re closely aligned with updates to Georgia's Stormwater Management Manual. We love having the opportunity to shine the spotlight on different members of the team. Today, we're shining that spotlight on Janice Warners, Closing Coordinator for our mobile services. She enjoys cooking, eating, and believes no one should be out of bed before 8 am (we second that, Janice ). Janice hopes to visit Greece, Spain, and do some cross country travel by train in the future. This is in line with her belief to "Buckle Up and Enjoy the Ride!" Well said, Janice. ... We're grateful to have Janice on the team. She's one of the reasons we're able to bring real estate to many of our client's front door! We appreciate her hard work and team spirit.

Now more than ever, many real estate activities are being done virtually, especially property tours. As most of the U.S. is under shelter in place protocols, real estate agents still need to serve their clients who are looking to purchase or rent properties. A virtual showing is the next best option if an in-person showing can't take place. Use these tips to make the process smooth for you and your clients: Use your phone and conduct the tour using FaceTime, Zoom, or Goog...le Hangouts. Make sure the property is clean and staged properly for a thorough tour. Show every area of the property so your client can get a good feel and make an informed decision. Be conversational and pause to answer questions from your client. Don't forget to take pictures to complement the tour. Hopefully, these tips will help you continue to serve your clients no matter the distance between the two of you.

ATTENTION BUSINESS OWNERS: Has the Paycheck Protection Program really run out? Several media outlets have announced that the Paycheck Protection Program ("PPP") has officially run out! In fact, if you go to the SBA's website right now, it states: "The SBA is currently unable to accept new applications for the Paycheck Protection Program based on available appropriations funding. Similarly, we are unable to enroll new PPP lenders at this time."... The initial $349 billion allocated to the PPP under the CARES Act is a forgivable loan designed to cover payroll expenses, rent & other qualified business expenses. This is a highly sought out loan program for both businesses and nonprofits. There's a lot of confusion around this subject because despite recent reports that the program as run dry, our lender-partners state that they are still assisting clients with PPP funding. Whatever the case, we are told that Congress and the federal government are in talks to pour more money into the program, which could mean an additional $250 billion of funds. Our recommendation is that if you're working with an approved PPP lender, allow them to continue filling out your PPP application (in its entirety). If you're not working with one, seek assistance NOW. Have questions? Inbox us & let's chat further!

Dog-Gate: OMGosh ... I need just a little peace & quiet! Working from home has caused a lot of us to reflect on many things ... like the constant and annoying barking from a neighbor's dog. You may find yourself wondering if the dog usually barks this much or do you finally have the time to notice? Most likely, you're hoping you can get the neighbor to quiet the dog long enough for you to get some work done and maintain a little sanity. If the barking interferes with the qui...et and peaceful enjoyment of your property, it's considered a "nuisance". Here's what you can do to restore your peace: Voice your concerns to the dog's owner. Notify the landlord if this is a landlord-tenant situation. File a complaint with your local Animal Services Dept. or law enforcement. If you need help determining which local ordinance could resolve your Dog-Gate dilemma, contact us for help.
