CORRECTION: The Cry Out America event in Jefferson County is Friday, Sept. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. at the county courthouse in Louisville. This is a public event; and, everyone is invited. Social distancing will be observed and the use of masks is required.

The Louisville Community Food Pantry, 718 West Nelms St., Louisville, will have fresh vegetables and milk tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 12,, from 10 a.m. until noon.

Law enforcement has confirmed the death of an inmate at Jefferson County Correctional Institute in Louisville. This is being investigated by the Department of Correction. More information will be released as it becomes available.

There will be a Fresh Food Giveaway Thursday, Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the parking lot of the former Louisville Middle School, 1200 School Street, Louisville. No early birds. Sponsors are Jefferson County Concerned Citizens, Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church and Jefferson County Georgia Chapter SCLC. Drive up and pop your trunk.

A Manna truck will be in Louisville Tuesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. at the First Methodist Church, 301 W 7th Street, Louisville. There will also be a Farmers to Families Food Box distribution Thursday, July 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Louisville Middle School parking lot. Supplies of food are limited. Please make sure there is room in your vehicle for the food.
