On this day 5 years ago I scraped up 100 dollars to file my incorporation with the GA Secretary of State to start my law firm. I was afraid of failure and had been putting it off for a while. I had no idea how I was going to embark on this entrepreneurial journey fresh out of law school and just passing the bar. But 5 years later here I am. And numbers don’t lie. I’ve know for quit some time now that America the home of the free is way behind other 1st world counties. We brag about being the riches country in the world with the best opportunities but we’re really not. We don’t train our police enough, and we don’t provide free or low cost college education or free healthcare like European countries and Canada. Police officers are given a huge amount of power and level of responsibility. Why not require them to have more education and training as well.

Just a little legal analysis on the George Floyd case. Why is the city really trying to dismantle the police force? It makes no sense. Every city needs some type of police to enforce laws and keep order. #justiceforgeorgefloyd

Today I had to appear for a jail calendar to represent a client who got arrested last night for protesting after curfew. I got him out on a signature bond, he’ll pay nothing and be released today. However what surprised me is that there were only 2 Attorneys present when almost 100 people were arrested last night in Atlanta for protesting after curfew. This tells me people are not taking this seriously and are not hiring lawyers. That doesn’t make sense to me because I’ve seen a lot of my colleagues post that they will provide free representation to help the cause. This is a new civil rights movement and thus attorneys must be involved to contribute and fight these legal issues. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
