Facebook friends, Ms. Rhonda Ports is another 2016 recipient of The Empowered Woman Award! Rhonda is a member of Jesup New Life Ministries, Pastor Bertha Cobbs ...(a 2015 EW award recipient). After becoming a victim of domestic violence, Rhonda became an advocate for the disabled. She is the founder of Ability Resource Center Corp. Rhonda established this non-profit organization to assist disabled citizens within the county and surrounding communities with resources, funding and scholarships. The lovely Lisa Cornell Brewer(right) is another 2016 Empowered Woman Award Recipient!! Lisa has worked as the Wayne County Family Connection Coordinator which ...thrusted her into working with local, regional, and state level stakeholders, focusing on community development planning and implementation. Lisa has also worked in women's ministry and motivating teenage girls. If I were to describe Lisa in two words, I would say that she is adventurous and resourceful. You are guaranteed to survive if you were stranded with her on a deserted island! I absolutely love and adore this lady! She is another friend to the friendless and does not mind serving in whatever capacity needed. Wayne County, help me to honor Lisa Brewer. She truly is an Empowered Woman!! See more

In 2015, Julia became a recipient of The Empowered Woman Award for her outstanding service. She is a blessing to the women she accommodates and to her staff.
