Looking for the light on a cloudy day Being in the shop, putting out new merchandise and arranging things in a pleasing way helps me focus on the things I can control. Staying busy and using my hands is the best way I know to get out of my head and be grounded in the present, something I need when the future feels daunting. I’ve been pretty anxious since last week, hoping for peace and stability during this transition. What are some of the ways you keep yourself in the here and now?

Still taking a short break this week to catch up from all the chaos of the holidays, which were way better & busier than anything I anticipated. We’re grateful and also realllly low on stock in pretty much everything right now Got some orders on the way & also plans to switch some things up, with more dedicated space for vintage & local makers in back with new offerings up front that we’re really excited about. We’re re-opening on Thursday at 11am and hope to see you then!

Had the best time last week when I got to visit Asheville to help with styling & do a little modeling for my friends @inbluehandmade. I’m never relaxed in front of the camera but they gave me a deck of tarot cards and that set me at ease I so enjoy collaborative projects like this, and major bonus when it’s in the mountains this time of year. It also inspired me to think about doing some more editorial work myself, so if you like modeling hit me up!

Got a few mugs made for all you super fans Some of you may have heard me talk about how much I love tea & want to have a tearoom at Indie South someday. I can’t drink coffee because it doesn’t agree with me but you’ll find me drinking herbal teas, broths, or even just hot lemon water pretty much all day. And when I do I want a nice sized mug that will hold enough to last a good while. These pot bellied mugs are a decent size and the round shape feels nice in your hand. In case you missed it in our stories, our Holiday Hooray market is happening! We will be hosting our biggest market of the year in our old space on Chase Street, in the heart of the Boulevard district. This event will be outdoors, masked & distanced, to give artisans & makers a much needed opportunity to connect with supporters in person. It’s been such a tough year for everyone, and especially small businesses. With so many things cancelled this year, we are grateful to be able to do this event safely and help sustain our local creative economy. We look forward to seeing some of you December 12th & 13th!
