If laidback and southern is your vibe, we invite you to consider the Mackey House for your wedding. The Mackey House sits on a historic property from the 1930s that is furnished with antiques. It is both beautifully appointed and comfortable. And the outdoor gardens and wrap around porch are always a hit with guests. Inquire about pricing and availability: https://bit.ly/3d10i6K

Sometimes our couples request to dine and dance outside in our gardens al fresco. We’re always happy to oblige! A wedding day is meant to feel extraordinary, and being able to glance skyward and see the stars definitely applies. Of course, we keep our eyes on the weather, and we’ll be quick to suggest a tent or our Pavilion if the weather looks like it might not cooperate as your wedding day approaches. Flowers add elegance to any design, and they also help to tell the story of your relationship through texture and color. Low centerpieces can have a picked-from-the-garden feel, while tall centerpieces lean into a more dramatic presence. Either looks beautiful outdoors! Without a tent, we have to admit we prefer tall centerpieces because they help to define the space more. We’re always eager to see the flowers your florist designs! If you’re planning to create a reception that feels intimate and romantic, think about working with your florist to include candles. They help to set the scene, and they also provide additional lighting. Plus, they create a warmth and glow that always looks beautiful on reception tables when paired with centerpieces. For a different look, you can also consider bypassing flowers and using an abundance of candles instead! When we think about wedding photos, those captured during your ceremony always feel like some of the most special. So, get married with a beautiful backdrop behind you! Our white wooden arbor takes on an extra elegant appearance when florists and designers add colorful draping, and the same can easily take our brick fireplace to another level in our Pavilion. Post-ceremony, the arbor offers a great space to transform for your sweetheart table, cake, or photo booth. White, green, and gold is a classic palette during any season. Combined with wintery greenery and holiday-inspired details, this clean palette becomes a warm and inviting winter look in December. Hardy white florals such as roses or mums and golden flatware complete the look. Get more winter wedding ideas on the blog: https://mackeyhouse.com//classic-and-elegant-winter-weddi/

Twinkle and market lights are a mainstay at weddings, and particularly festive during long winter nights. Use them amply in multiple locations, like weaving them through the greenery of your arbor, or winding them around cocktail tables, or even hanging them in your reception space. We want to wish a very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate. May your day be merry and bright.

Christmas for the Mackey family actually begins on Thanksgiving, when the forty-plus family members gather to give thanks and draw names for a Christmas gift exchange. Christmas day starts with another Mackey family tradition: a steak and champagne brunch, complete with a homemade egg casserole, succulent steak, eggnog, and of course, champagne. Gifts are exchanged in the afternoon and the evening is spent relaxing.
