"The biggest mistake we make in life is thinking we have time." This statement from this post drew me in because of how powerful and true it is. On January 16th, 2014, my only sibling died unexpectedly after a brief illness at the age 34. She left behind a husband, a 17 month old daughter, our parents, my son, and me. I am sure she wasn't planning on leaving us so soon. She wanted to see her daughter grow and make more memories with her husband. But the flu had other plans. L...ess than 11 months later, my dad died. Their deaths showed me that nothing is guaranteed, especially not tomorrow. I remember once I had a trip planned, but my dad got sick. I was about to cancel my trip to stay at the hospital with him, but he told me I'd better get my ass on that plane. He said why would you want to sit here and stare at me doing nothing when you can be out living? Go live your life! For a long time, I would put things off thinking I can do it later. I can do it another time - I am young and healthy. I have nothing but time! But time is promised to NO ONE. So, ask that guy out, eat that donut, use the "good" plates, tell your aunt what you REALLY think about her potato salad.
