At this site we conducted Geoprobe services at 90 locations at a landfill outside Pensacola, Florida. With the standing water and muddy conditions, most of the 2nd day required a dozer for boring placement. It was an interesting project where FDEP and a group of consulting and laboratory personnel conducted the assessment of the landfill using the Incremental Sampling Methodology (ISM) approach. Trying to beat the rain on a Geoprobe Direct Push drilling soil and groundwater sampling job east of Atlanta in Tucker, Georgia. We pulled 200+ feet of soil samples and a few groundwater samples out of ten holes in a little over 5 hours. Here's a series of photos where we are abandoning small diameter Geoprobe monitoring wells located inside and outside a dry cleaner east of Pensacola, Florida near Destin, Florida. The photos show gauging water levels and tagging the bottom of the wells; tremmie grouting with neat cement in accordance with the NFWMD well abandonment permit requirements; and, resurfacing the abandoned wells flush to grade. The key to well abandonments and any well drilling for that matter in Florida is to use a licensed driller.
