COVID 'Back to Training / Return to the Dojo' REVIEWS Shihan Mike here... How are you? Always wishing You and Your Family the greatest of Health and Happiness. As you know, The Martial Arts Center re opened its doors on June 1st, 2020. It has been a great month so far. This is not just my opinion but rather the shared opinions of many of the Students / Parents which have returned to our Dojo during this time. The reviews submitted were written by Moms, Dads, Healthca...re Workers, CDC Professionals, Social / Political Opposites, etc. It is my hope that a balance can be arrived at where the students of TMAC can return with an understanding that The Martial Arts Center is taking this Covid Experience very seriously and is demonstrating how it values everyone's Health & Safety through its institution of all Safety Measures & CDC Compliant Protocols. Ultimately... The Martial Arts Center is open and is excited about your return to the mat whether you are an old TMAC Student or just interested in beginning a Martial Arts Practice for yourself... ReOpening Day for TMACenter Dojo. There is a lot of excitement amongst our Student Body and of course, Myself. There are many Social-Health and Political perspectives. I have current Doctors, Scientists, Nurses and CDC professionals within our Parent / Adult student body population which are returning to the Dojo this week. At this time, I would say around 90+ % are game to start back with safety measures being observed. The other 8 to 10% are wanting to wait it out a litt...le longer and either sticking with 'Real Time / Live Streaming' of Classes or just taking the month off and this group is a mix up of the same group of individuals as well. Of course we have Professionals of many other fields outside of the Health Profession who are highly intelligent thinkers and who fall into both categories... the 90% and 10% groups. Note... When I go out to large box stores, Costco, Walmart, Target, Grocery Store Chains, HD etc the same percentage are wearing masks. I understand the debate about 'whether or not' a mask is worthwhile and I can not give you an answer that everyone will agree with. What I can say I have observed is that, as ignorant as our population might be to some, regardless of what perspective you take, whether you are a Health Professional or Non-Health Professional, the social circle of life that I am commuting between (Alpharetta and Atlanta) daily are primarily wearing masks. What this tells me is that masks are socially acceptable by 90+ % of this population which are made up of highly Intelligent Professionals and Ignorant People, depending on your Networking, Family and Social Circles. Bottom line, I have to reopen at this time and do so in with the highest expectation of Myself, The Martial Arts Center, our Staff along with the highest expectation of all TMAC Families and Students, regardless of Political, Social, Economonical, Vocational perspectives. My teacher imprinted a very important Social Virtue in my character and that is, 'Know What the Rules are and follow them and if You disagree then you do not have to, although you do not have to disrespect the individual or organiztion they represent by making them lose face and argue with them why they are wrong and you are right. Agree to disagree and continue to care, like or love that person and/ or the organization-business for all the other reasons. This Covid concern will work itself out in time... what needs our attention is how we function as human beings through it all. I look forward to seeing all my friends and student body this week! Great News Everyone! ** The Martial Arts Center will reopen for classes on Monday, June 1st, 2020 ** We are very excited! At this time, we are enrolling New Students in our Dragon (5-7), Tiger (8-12) and our Adult Karate & Jujitsu Peograms... *** Register Now / Free Trial *** https://www.tmacenter.com/free-trial/... In preparation for opening day... * All mats now have spots positioned 6ft apart - front to back / side to side. * Sanitation Stations have been strategically positioned throughout the Dojo. * A new Water Machine has been installed so students can refill water bottles as the water fountain is off limits. * Hospital Grade Sanitizer is being used to clean everything on an hourly basis as needed. Mats once or twice a day! * HVAC UV Light Installation will occur in the immediate future. Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVG) is one of the main methods of decontamination that Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities are being advised to use to kill Viruses like Covid 19, as well as, Mold, Fungus, and most Microorganisms across the board. * An efficient system of orderly Entry and Exit will occur minimizing any potential clustering of students. * We will follow a no contact protocol of practice for the time being. * We will ask all students to wear a mask, for the time being, during their training sessions. Of course, Ms. Krista and I will be sporting our own masks as well. * Any student who is not comfortable in returning to their Dojo training at this time can continue to train at home by either: (1) Completing a Training Video, of the 19 Videos created, which you have not done as of yet. If so, please remember to notify us of your Training Video completion or (2) Practice alongside us as we conduct classes in the Dojo via our Online Zoom Platform.
