Coastal Mississippi said travel thrives as they continue to ensure safety for visitors. Without a mask mandate in place, CEO of Coastal Mississippi Milton Segarra said they’ve created a health promise with their vendors to eliminate any fear travelers may have. It was good to have the mandate through the entire state. That helped us tremendously to provide that additional level of comfort, but we feel very comfortable if we keep doing what we’re doing right now to make sure when people visit us they will be safe, Segarra said. #Mississippi #VisitMS

A brighter future is instore for the industry. According to Tourism Economics who shared with the Travel South USA Global Research Committee last week, international arrivals to our region will operate at 23% of 2019 levels this year, double to 55% next year, reach 79% in 2022, and 94% by 2023. While a return to pre-pandemic levels of international #travel will be a multi-year effort, the double-digit increases beginning in 2021 and beyond will help support the export #economy needed for the South to achieve full recovery.
