Socializing Your Puppy! When it comes to socializing your puppy with other dogs, QUALITY is more important than QUANTITY. While it is good to get your puppy around a variety of other dogs, it is more important to make sure all of those interactions create positive associations. Allowing too many negative experiences to happen to your puppy during socialization is often times a recipe for disaster.

I love to receive texts like this from clients. Maggie (the dog) has had some history with being reactive towards other dogs and people (barking, growling, and lunging), so it’s great to see her owners doing great work and being able to walk her around the Farmer’s Market.
Today we did some training with Maggie and her owner at Shamrock Park in Tyrone. We worked on Maggie’s recall around a lot of distractions, and we worked on getting her to drop the tennis ball when we ask her to. Both of these things Maggie has given her owners a hard time with prior to training.
Snoopy had previously taken a few tumbles down the stairs, which caused him to be fearful of going down them. So we worked with him yesterday on conquering his fear

Puppy Socialization! Out of all of the things that you should be doing with your puppy, perhaps the most important is socialization. However, socialization is not what most people think it is. For many people socialization means letting their dog interact with any and all dogs or people that they come across. I recommend not doing this. First, let me give you this little is piece of wisdom: when it comes to socialization, quality is more important than quantity. The goal o...f socializing your pup is to make interactions and exposure positives experiences. All too often many owners ignore or fail to recognize when their pup is uncomfortable about greeting someone new, and they end up trying to force some kind of interaction to happen. Trust me when I say this is not the best approach to take. Click the link continue reading about puppy socialization tips! https://truelifek9.com/tips-on-socializing-your-puppy/
