The University of Georgia’s Brown Media Archives & Peabody Awards Collection will celebrate the importance of home movies with a weeklong series of virtual events, including a rarely seen private look at the early days of Athens rock band The B-52s. Hop on a Facebook Live event at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 15, with artist Keith Bennett, who will discuss his B-52s home movie collection from the 1970s and 1980s. Bennett chronicled the early rise of the B-52s on Super 8 camera. We're so proud to share this profile of a member of our Dream Team: Ronald Bernard! Bernard usually works as a line cook for the Savannah Room restaurant but this fall was tapped to fill a special role: preparing fresh hot meals for students in quarantine. I take care of those kids like VIPs because right now they are my VIPs. I want them to be happy, said Bernard, noting that his whole team has risen to the challenge during this unusual time. That happiness comes in the form of three freshly prepared meals a day.
