A key aspect of the Full-Time MBA program, and UGA as a whole, is experiential learning. Students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills within a service-learning project and this year, 2nd-year MBA Bill Cangelosi describes his semester project with the Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) One of the best parts about UGA’s program is how it blends experiential learning with its desire to give back to the Athens community. I worked with my partner ACCA and Non-...Profit Board Fellow, Lily Waldron, and four of our colleagues to put together five programmatic budgets for three of the ACCA’s largest programs. Our group worked together closely with the ACCA’s CEO and VP to go through past financials and to forecast future costs and revenues in the New Normal that the ACCA would face. It was a privilege to be able to work with an organization like the ACCA that improves so many lives in Athens and the state of Georgia through its many programs like Meals on Wheels, the Senior Community Service Employment Program, and the Center for Active Living. Applying my business knowledge to improve the Athens community is an experience I’ll always remember and value.
