Thanks to Covid-19, life has been a continuous stream of illnesses, deaths, uncertainties, shortages of toilet paper, and many other things. It has been such, that we often forget that life continues around the world and good and bad things happen. Sadly, today has been one of those reminders. It is with a heavy heart that I share the sudden death of a former Villa guest, Abdullah Fatih Demirci, of Turkey. Fatih was a young doctor who stayed with us in 2017-18 while conducting research. While here, he met his future wife, they wed, returned to Istanbul, and have a handsome young son, just over six months of age. According to a family member, Fatih was killed in an automobile accident in Turkey earlier today. May he rest in peace. May his wife and family and friends find comfort in each other during this difficult time.
