On Wednesday, May 27th, 2020, the Walton County Board of Commisioners broke ground on the new Walton County Fire Station #12 at Hard Labor Creek Regional Reservoir.

Walton County Fire Rescue has an immediate need for a Temporary Fire Apparatus Mechanic. We are looking for that individual that can work 20-30 part-time hours per week to assist with our fleet repairs and preventative maintenance program. This position will assist with oil change services, brake repairs, electrical repairs, and other repairs to the fire department fleet as required. This position would be an excellent position for a journeyman mechanic looking for extra inco...me, or a student in a mechanic program to gain some vital hands-on job experience working with all types of vehicles. We would be willing to be flexible with the hours worked for this position, in order to accommodate classes or hours worked with another job. Walton County Fire Rescue is sad to report that former Walton County Fire Rescue firefighter Rob Nevis passed away suddenly yesterday, while working as an EMT on an ambulance. Rob was a veteran firefighter, and EMT. He was always smiling, laughing, and was fun to work with. Rob was more than a co-worker to those of us he worked with, he was like a brother. Rob was kind, caring, and made a significant impact on the lives of those around him. Rest In Peace, Robert Nevis, July 31st, 2019.

Yesterday Walton County Fire Rescue and many other agencies laid to rest Captain Greg Wise of City of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department. Captain Wise lost his battle to cancer at a young age of 50, however if you watch all the video, Captain Wise won our hearts with his dedicated service. The funeral took place at Corinth Church on Hwy 81 in Walton County.
