Well Equipt's founder, Elizabeth grew up in Atlanta, attending The Lovett School ‘09, where she participated in basketball, cheerleading, and gymnastics before pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University ‘13. She then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Columbia University ‘16, where she enjoyed exploring Manhattan for several years. After graduation, she returned home to begin her career. Elizabeth enjoys working with a v...ariety of patients and aims to instill knowledge and confidence needed to regain function and improve overall fitness. Elizabeth was often approached with questions regarding advice on personal aches and pain. Although questions were addressed, Elizabeth became frustrated with the lack of initiative active adults take to promote their own healing and ability to achieve wellness. With this, she decided to come up with a health care model allowing easy, convenient access to physical therapy care that empowers active adults to achieve wellness; Well Equipt. Outside of physical therapy, Elizabeth enjoys coaching basketball and gymnastics/cheerleading, water skiing, and traveling.
Low back pain a great place to start (including for my postpartum ladies)! Activating our deep core muscles is KEY to making our back feel safe. When our back feels safe and stabilized, our muscles can relax and pain reduces. Try the above exercises to activate your deep core muscles and get your glutes working! Postpartum ladies these deep core exercises are a great place to start to reintroduce and activate our core without stressing/overloading it. This will help with low back pain and get you on the right track to return to working out!
We are excited to be at F45 Buckhead this Saturday to provide movement screens, injury assessments, and answer all questions related to wellness and aches & pains! Get your sweat on and see y’all there!
For fun! I’ve had several questions on behalf of friends, family, and current pregnant mommas to be on exercises that help with pregnancy related aches and pains. While I don’t specialize in pelvic floor PT (if you don’t know what that is, it’s truly AMAZING and I have lots of fabulous pelvic floor therapist referrals for you!) I do have several exercises that personally have helped me avoid aches and pains through pregnancy! We know our glutes, core, and postural muscles are super important to keep strong as we progress through pregnancy. PS: These muscles are important for everyone to keep strong to combat aches and pains! I found the most comfortable way to work these muscles for me is on my hands and knees and standing up! I try to do these 4-5 days/week!
Thank you for the kind words AND for the amazing tech support for Well Equipt!
