West Point Fire Department 12.07.2021

Fire Hydrant Testing Beginning June 1, 2021, the City of West Point Fire Department will begin testing fire hydrants on the City of West Point Water System. Testing will begin on the date listed above around 9:00 AM and end around 3:30 PM. This activity will continue daily Monday through Friday until all fire hydrants have been properly tested. Annual testing of fire hydrants is necessary in order to ensure that hydrants will work properly in an emergency. This process also c...leans out settled silt and debris in the water mains which builds up over time. This procedure may stain or discolor the water for a few days after testing. You may choose to wait an extra day to wash laundry if your water is discolored to prevent staining of clothing. The city apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. For inquiries of when testing will be conducted in your area please call West Point Fire Department at 706-645-3508. Other question and comments should be directed to West Point City Hall customer service at 706-645-3504. See more
