Today is exactly TEN YEARS since my book #StitchByStitch hit Amazon. It sold nearly 100,000 copies before going out of print. I am still so, so proud of the work and time and thought that went into this book, so grateful for the experience and opportunity to write it, and so humbled by the messages I still get from folks who came to sewing or came back to sewing because of it. What an incredible gift it is to wake up each day and realize I like what I do more and more as time... goes on. Ten years!! It has floooowwwwwwn by. FWIW, even if they aren’t printing more there are still copies out there to be had, at bargain prices, and in lots and lots of local public libraries (that part might be where I tear up a little, because my book being in a public library is basically all six-year-old me thought about besides discovering the tomb of the next King Tut). #stitchbystitchbook See more

Yesterday was the anniversary of TWELVE YEARS of Whipstitch. I wrote my very first Whipstitch blog post that day, where I announced my intention to launch a sewing lounge in Atlanta. It was part wild hope and part fervent desire to manifest the future, and even as I published the words I couldn’t have dreamed where it would take me. Not only did I open that sewing lounge, a retail shop that won Best of Atlanta every year it was open, but since then I published two best-sellin...g books, taught more than two dozen online classes, hosted close to 6000 unique members in the @murdermysteryquilt, and made some dear friends through the @leagueofdressmakers. I know it’s what athletes say after every big win, but I am humbled and proud to look back and see where Whipstitch has taken me, and I feel honored and grateful for meeting so many of you along the way. I sort of figured, based on my previous work history, that I would sew for 5-7 years before getting bored with it and moving on to something else? But I haven’t gotten bored yet, and the eight five-subject notebooks I have that are stuffed with ideas makes me think I won’t any time soon. You guys. I’m just so thankful I get to do this for a living. MAYBE WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING SPECIAL??? Comments open for fun ideas of how to celebrate. Thank you, thank you, thank you, all of you. 12 MAJOR shout-out to @dadcation for his constant support and unwavering faith in me. Building a business that lasts this long takes having someone in your corner, and I’m lucky he’s in mine. #twelve years #anniversary #businessbirthday See more
