Nice transformation of the home office. This wall to wall has pullouts in the base cabinets for the office machines, hang file drawers and a knee drawer. I think it fit the room rather nicely.

This was a cool project for several reasons. One of the cool things was not hanging the top piece. That was 154" long. 10 feet in the air. With wiring for the lights hanging out of the wall that had to be routed before we could mount the piece. Among the cool things was the design from Angela Groover Chu. Everything but the base cabinet floats, having no visible supports. The darker stuff is a quarter sawn walnut veneer, and the lighter stuff is a quarter sawn maple. The installation changed the room tremendously. When we asked the client what they had in mind for the different shelves and ledges and boxes, they said they had no idea and that they would make that up as they went along. They expressed that they were content just to sit back and look at the work, unadorned, which was a huge compliment.

This gallery shows what a new door style and a paint job will do for your kitchen. It shows how much tape and cardboard and plastic drape goes into refinishing. It shows what Terry and Keith do while paint is drying. A few other things we did here was to demo a trash compactor cabinet and install a waste pull out. We also modified 2 cabinets that had doors and pullouts into drawer banks which improves the appearance and the function of the cabinets.

With our big blue resaw, we were able to bookmatch these pieces of pecky, put them on a substrate and install in these bar backs. The box beams were already in place and we simply skinned them. The vanity mirror, valance and bump to open storage below turned our really well. Credit to the client for the material choice and for her recommendation on the finish for all these pieces. It preserved so well the unique grain and color of the material. There are some with no couth who actually paint this stuff.

Thank you Heather Smith for having us do this work. A basic farm table out of resawn reclaimed heart pine, replete with radius mill marks from a big ol circular saw from a hundred years ago. We slabbed up the top so it has a seamless appearance. The legs we bought new and paid good money for only to beat them up with chains and hammers and rasps. Basic stain with a glaze and dull rub poly finish. At 100" long, these folks are ready for a feast.
