On October 11, 1977, City of Monroe Police Department Lt. Michael Etchison Sr. was slain in the line of duty. We remember and honor Lt. Etchison by placing a wreath at his gravesite each year. Our thoughts and prayers are always with the Etchison family, but more so this year marks the 43rd Anniversary of our loss.

Monroe friends. Our home was burglarized on Sunday evening August 2 around 10:10PM while we were home. Specifically some dirt bag entered our garage which is ...200 feet off the road, rifled through my truck (which was unlocked-my fault-but hell it was in my garage 200’ from the road!), took my handgun and briefcase and then went to a corner of our property and tossed through everything, left my iPad and other valuables and only took the handgun. Dark complexion male wearing a red T-shirt or sweatshirt is barely seen on our cameras leaving the property around 1013 PM heading south towards the City Hall area. Any help appreciated if you have a camera in the downtown area that may show someone walking around in a red top Sunday evening between 9PM and 11PM. City of Monroe Police Department is already doing an amazing job of pursuing all leads. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. Don’t steal my shit! Just ask and I’ll gladly give you something. Good grief. #GetAJobOrJustAskNicely #IWantMyGunBack See more

Thank you so much Sgt. Kaitlyn Burnette and Sgt Michael Burnette (United States Army) for providing our officers with gift cards. They will truly enjoy this meal and we thank you for serving our great country!!
