Good afternoon and happy Monday! We all know about travel safety for us, humans, but what about for your furry family members? Traveling with your pet(s) can be a lot of fun! When you take your pet in the car with you, make sure you have a few things with you. For instance, a pet seat belt. This will help make sure that your pet can not jump around to different spots in the car while you are driving or hop out of the window if it is open. If your pet is smaller, it may be s...afer for them to travel in a carrier/crate. You can also pack them a bag with food, water, bags for easy clean up, etc. Just like us, they may need some snacks and restroom breaks along the way. Check out these links for some more safety information on traveling! https://www.aspca.org/p/general-pet-care/travel-safety-tips https://www.rover.com/blog/how-to-keep-dog-safe-in-car/

Today is National Poinsettia day! Even though these plants are a popular decoration for the holidays, they are mildly toxic to pets. When ingested by a dog or cat, mild signs of vomiting, drooling, or rarely, diarrhea may be seen. https://www.aspca.org//toxic-and-non-toxic-plan/poinsettia

Good morning, We have some laser therapy progress photos to share with you all! These are from a patient of ours that had a Lick Granuloma on her rear left foot. It was opened up and raw when we first started treating it. Over the course of 6 laser treatments, her lick granuloma (defined below) has improved tremendously! You can see from progress photo #1 that the area is very red and raw. As the treatments continued, the open area is significantly reduced in size and the re...dness has improved. After her last treatment, she was good to go * Lick Granuloma: Also known as acral lick dermatitis, this problem occurs when a dog obsessively licks at an area on the lower limb, most commonly the wrist or carpal joint of the front limb. This condition is thought to be both physical and psychological in nature. However, there is a definite strong psychological component (e.g., fear, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive disorder). These dogs find a spot to lick and start a cycle of self-trauma, inflammation, and infection. *
