Countryside Catering

We would like to Thank, Oglethorpe EMS for having their Christmas Party at Countryside last night. It was not the party they were wanting, but it is 2020 and Covid has changed all our lives. They had a social distance event, we did 3 shifts of drive in and pickup to go plates. We are all having to make changes to our celebration, but they still could recognize the employees for there service and dedication. We had everything outside, and a fun night was had by all. We appreciate all the hard work and service they provide for our county. We appreciate them letting us be a part of this event.

We would like to Thank, Athens Clarke County departments, Water and Sewer and Meter Management for allowing us to prepare a Christmas meal for the staff members. They have been very supportive of our business this past year and we really appreciate them. We wish them a blessed holiday season.

We would like to Thank, OCHS for allowing us to do a holiday meal on Tuesday for the staff. We drop it off for them. They had to postpone their Thanksgiving meal due to the school closing. We are all having to adjust to all type changes during 2020, but we try and celebrate when we can. We really appreciate the support the school system has always given us. We wish all of you a blessed holiday season.

We would like to Thank, Ladd Trucking for allowing us to provide Christmas lunch for their staff again this year on Wednesday. We have been doing this for many years.

We appreciate UGA football staff for allowing us to provide lunch for them on Tuesday.

We would like to Thank, Armour Plumbing for hosting their employees Christmas party at Countryside Banquet room. The season has started.

Countryside Catering, would also like to Thank, Cary Fordyce for all the help and advice he gave us in who to contact regarding the sell of the Manor. We also, greatly appreciate Greg Edwards at the Commercial Bank always being there for us and helping with our needs and giving us advice.

We are making this announcement with very mixed emotions. As most of you know 2019 was a rough year for us due to Jerry's cancer, we were unable to take as many events as usual, but we survived, and were starting to get back on tract. We then were hit with 2020 Covid shutdown, we lost about 700 and 800 events, we are not sure what the future holds. We were very blessed with God's grace that we did survive by our clients supporting us. We had to make some business changes, an...d this has been in the works for about 9 months and the outcome is that we have sold Countryside Manor. We will be still operating Countryside Catering, just like we have for the last 22 years, this is what our clients know us for. We have a small banquet room and patio for our clients to use, and we travel to other locations, and we will stil offer catering service at the venue. We would like to thank the following groups who helped us get through the process, Oglethorpe Country Board of Commissioner, Oglethorpe Planning and Zoning, Kelly Smith, Clerk of Court, and Matt Ulmer, Baseline Surveying & Engineering, without them we would not have had any idea what to do, we had a lot of sleepless nights and stress, making this happen. The new owner's are 46 Grove Chapel LLC, they will be operating as a wedding venue, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 noon til 10:00. I will post more information when we receive it. We appreciate all the support we have gotten through out the years. This is not how we had thought things would turn out, but nobody can know your future. Margie and Jerry

Countryside Catering Banquet Room and Patio

Countryside Catering, would like to Thank, Angie Perteet for hosting her family a shower at our banquet room and patio area. The couple was blessed to be surrounded by family and friends. They are expecting a baby boy. They had a fun night with games and gifts.

It looks like Thanksgiving and Christmas will be different this year just like other events. We will be glad to finish 2020 and hope for better things. We would like to Thank, Corinth Baptist Church for allowing us to be a part of their Homecoming Service yesterday. We provided the food and we appreciate Megan Elizabeth Edwards and Ian Bates for helping to serve the guest. We appreciate, Ann Tweedell for setting up the event and all her hard work, making this possible for her church. We appreciate them using our services.

We had a busy day yesterday, we would like to Thank the following people for using our services. Robert Fortner picked up food for his niece wedding at the Engine Room in Monroe. Shannon Pritchett had a graduation party at Countryside Manor for his sister. Victoria White allowed us to be a part of her special day at Grant Hills Farm in Commerce, a beautiful venue. It was a blessed day even if we were under tornado warnings and rain.

We would like to Thank, Hope Wilson and John, their families who allowed us to be a part of their special weekend. On Friday, we were part of the rehearsal events at Countryside Manor, where friends and family gather to decorate and practice for the big day. The events started early on, on Saturday for the bride and her bridal party getting ready for the special day. It was a beautiful weekend for a wedding. They were blessed to be surrounded by family and friends to celebrate the day. We wish them a wonderful new life. I did not have time to get photos, but the photographer shared with me, and I am sure will be posting more, she did a wonderful job.

The first time since March we had a busy week, we would like to Thank, Athens Clarke County Water and Sewer for having us provide lunch for their staff, Mark Christenson, for allowing us to provide food for his son’s rehearsal dinner, we appreciate- Megan Elizabeth Edwards and Ian Bates for doing the event for us on Friday night. On Saturday AM, we provided breakfast for the UGA football team, I appreciate them using our service, Bobby Arnold, Jeff and Carolyn Thompson helped me with that event. I am truly blessed to have family and friends who are always there to help me out.

Countryside Catering and Manor, would like to Thank, Mr and Mrs Troy McClung for hosting their daughter, Jessica wedding today. It was a rainy, stormy day but everyone had a wonderful time. The new couple was surrounded by family and friends. The photographer asked for pictures not to be taken during the service. We wish them a happy and blessed life.

Ashlee Casey wedding yesterday at Countryside Manor. The event was done by Going-On Creative Events, they did a beautiful job. We wish the couple a wonderful future.
