A tale of asymptomatic spread: A surgery patient of mine, in his 60s, tests POSITIVE on pre-surg screening. No symptoms. He had gone to outdoor drinks with 6 others at a local place a few days before. No one felt sick at the time. Over the next few days he developed symptoms of severe fatigue for about 72 hours. Four others in the party became sick as well (all sicker than he), including one who spent a few days in the hospital. Our screening test led the patient to isolate from his family at home and no one else got sick. All recovered. Stay diligent. Home stretch with vax on the way!

Great prelim #vaccine news. Seeking FDA approval around T'giving if this holds; some shots could be distributed December. This would target us starting to reduce #COVID transmissibility in early recipients Qtr1, and hopefully continued improvement throughout the year. Something tells me distancing/masks still needed into the summer though even if this stays on course.

My own data analysis as of 6/8. Just noting that for "the rest of us" outside of New York metro we are seeing steady-to-climbing coronavirus case counts, NOT declining. We have seen many states with strong case AND hospitalization increases. Mostly happening so far in spots with looser distancing like nursing homes and poor communities.
