Toddler Post Alert Ms. Portia is looking for some adventurous Picasso’s to join her in the art studio on Saturday, November 7th, from 11 am - 12 pm at East Athens Community Center!!! Come help us say hello to fall!

Ms. Portia would like to thank Sandy Creek Nature Center for coming out and allowing Kids in the Kitchen to be apart of their Snailed IT program. Check out their awesome footage below!!!

Ms. Portia and her mini witches met up in her Spook-tacular kitchen on Saturday to bake some Spook-a-licious Halloween treats R.I.P. Tombstone brownies and Mummy Dogs! As always, Ms. Portia would like to thank all the participants who joined her and hopes to see you all back in the kitchen on November 21st!

We’re going on a GHOST HUNT! East Athens Fun Friday participants teamed up together in search of the ghost of Dudley Park! This was not an easy task, however, with the help of finding this mysterious note, some clues and puzzles, we are able to spot this famous ghost! Afterwards, we decided to end this long day with roasting hot dogs and marshmallows for our delicious s’mores!!! Now that’s how you have fun on Friday!

We are GROWING at East Athens Community Center! We have partnered with the UGA Cooperative Extension Office and their Grow it. Know It. Program. This is going to be a FRUITFUL partnership since the kids have already learned how to prep the soil, add fertilizer and plant collard greens. Mr. Wick, our awesome garden instructor, also showed us how to make delicious Kale smoothies!

Guess what! Ms. Portia was finally able to find some cooking monsters on her spooktacular hunt for Kids in the Kitchen Toddler edition! These monster enjoyed making healthy Halloween treats alongside with their parents! As always Ms. Portia would like to thank everyone who participated!!

One word that describes East Athens After School Program...F-U-N! Students have enjoyed making puppet-wobbly-photo holders, fried Oreos, catapults, and conducting science experiments with their UGA WIT tutor. What fun things will we do next? Stay tune!

Update! All parks and facilities are open, except Bear Hollow Zoo and Morton Theatre. Outdoor basketball and volleyball courts remain closed.
