Good Afternoon Jackson County Families, The Jackson County community has reached a dangerously high COVID 19 spread rate with a record number of positive cases ...in the past two weeks. With high numbers of staff absences, we are unable to provide substitutes and transportation support and we risk the overall safety of our students and staff. Therefore, we will transition to remote learning for ALL students beginning Wednesday, December 9th until Winter Break. Students should plan to be engaged in learning from home starting on Wednesday and continue until Thursday, December 17th. Should you choose to begin remote learning on Tuesday, December 8th, please work with your child’s school to obtain needed learning materials. School nutrition services will still be available (5-day meal pickup planned between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM at each school on Wednesday, December 9, and Wednesday, December 16) and you may obtain details from your child’s school. We look forward to returning as soon as possible, however, we will continue to monitor Jackson County data. We encourage you to have a plan should we need to extend remote learning into early January. Thanks to your partnership, we are exceptionally grateful that we were able to provide in-person learning for the vast majority of the first semester. We wish you and your families a safe holiday. Mrs. Beauchamp's Virtual 3rd-5th grade class has been reading about pollution. They have been following trash and how long things take to biodegrade. They also read about how people are using their creativity to upcycle, in addition to recycling. Did you know that a glass object sent to a landfill will remain there for around 50 million years?! Students discussed ways to save items from items from ending up in landfills. Some of their clever ideas are pictured here. Great job, students!

Mrs. Myler’s class enjoyed their Pancakes and PJs celebration yesterday! They loved doing the sleepy time word search and hunting sleepy time rhyming words.
