Georgia individuals and corporations can donate to public education via the Qualified Education Donation tax credit (QED) and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their Georgia state income taxes. The tax credit is capped at $5 million and is approved on a first-come, first-serve basis. QED funds may be awarded to local education agencies, public schools, charter schools, and 501(c)(3) organizations partnering with these entities implementing programs with an innovative ...focus. For example, West Jackson Elementary School of Jackson County Schools received $74,389 to implement a multi-tiered program that targets school based professional development in Social-Emotional Learning, addresses the non-academic needs of students, and develops a mentor program for at-risk students. Growing Greatness leverages partnerships with the High Museum of Arts, the Alliance Theater, Amazon, 12Stone, the University of Georgia, and FedEx to engage the community in social-emotional learning and the development of the whole child through STEAM-based activities connected to agriculture and authentic hands on experiences.

Today the GFPE reached an important milestone. Effective January 1, 2022, the Innovation Fund Foundation (at the Governor's Office of Student Achievement,) will officially merge with the GFPE. We couldn't be more thrilled to streamline our work and create a more efficient way to raise and distribute funds to K-12 public school children, teachers and leaders. Georgia individuals and corporations can donate to public education via the Qualified Education Donation tax credit (QED) and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their Georgia state income taxes. In turn, we will use the tax credit dollars to spur innovations in Georgia schools and school districts. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out via messenger. Thank you to so many who made this possible! We look forward to doing more for our state's youth!
