It's time to worship together again! After a year and a few months of worshipping together virtually, we are excited to welcome you back into the Sanctuary to worship with us in-person. Online will be here to stay, so know that you'll always be able to watch the livestream of the service on Facebook or the church website. Starting May 23, you are invited to visit the church website (glennumc.org) or call the church office and RSVP for each week's Sunday morning service at 11am. On May 23 we celebrate Pentecost - the birthday of the church - with vibrant worship, communion, and will welcome the Gary Motley trio as they collaborate with the Glenn Chancel Choir in Will Todd's Jazz Missa Brevis. We hope you join us!

Faithful Leader or Genocidal Conqueror? The book of Joshua contains some of the most difficult stories to read in the entire Bible. Did God command genocide? Why couldn't they live with the people? How can we read these texts faithfully? Candler School of Theology Intern Connor Perry is offering a two-part series that will seek to answer these questions. Breaking the subject into two parts, the goal will be to truly wrestle with Scripture and its interpretations. Anyone is we...lcome to come, however, due to the nature of the texts and topics, discretion is advised; intended age is High School and older. Session 1 will focus on the famous story of the siege of Jericho, asking questions like: Why is this in Scripture? What does this say about who God is? What is the point? Can we read this story faithfully? Session 2 will focus on the destruction of Ai as a way to address the way these texts justified Manifest Destiny and the slaughter of millions of Indigenous peoples in this country. We cannot faithfully read these stories unless we also grapple with the way they have been used to conquer and oppress. Join Connor Perry TOMORROW at 7 p.m. https://tinyurl.com/Sin-of-Joshua
