Art Lovers ... In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Ruth Asawa's Desert Plant is the inspiration for an interactive conversation today at 1 p.m. Join the National Gallery of Art and share your observations, interpretations, questions, and ideas, and build on your own first impressions to broaden your understanding of this work of art. This session lasts one hour and is completely interactive. Gallery educators will facilitate the conversation to c...reate an environment for shared learning. These conversations will encourage you to engage deeply with art, with others, and with the world around you as you hone skills in visual literacy and perspective-taking. This program is free and open to the public and is designed for anyone interested in talking about art. https://bit.ly/33p5viY ##aapiheritagemonth2021 #celebratediversity #GoGlobe

Happy Monday GLOBE Community! On Tuesday, Jan. 5th, we will re-open with virtual learning for all.
Happy New Year!
For many families, school will look different this year than it has in previous years. Your school may offer virtual learning or have new policies and practices in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during in-person learning. Whatever the situation, these checklists are intended to help parents, guardians, and caregivers, plan and prepare for the possible return to campus.
*BE ADVISED* Due to the forecast of inclement weather tomorrow, the Kona Ice Truck Day will now be NOV. 18, 2020 - from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on LC, and 3-5 p.m. on UC. More details will come in an email.
FTI Host Families: We are immensely honored to have been selected and approved by the French Embassy for the French Teaching Intern (FTI) Grant. This program allows us host FTIs that can enhance GLOBE French classroom instruction as language and cultural ambassadors. This is the 6th consecutive year GLOBE has earned the French-American Cultural Exchange in Education and the Arts (FACE) Foundation grant for instructional support in French.... Priority for this grant is given to schools hosted by the French Education International. Teaching Interns are native French speakers, typically graduate-level students in the process of completing a Master's program, or are recent graduates in other teacher training programs. FTIs are recruited by the French Embassy in collaboration with the France Education International, a joint agency of the French Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We have four wonderful FTI's who will be joining us in January! We need 4 amazing GLOBE families to share their home with FTIs for the second half of the school year! Please contact Robyn Brandman, Host Family Liaison, at [email protected] if you would love to host an FTI!
