We are continuing to ship all tool orders received online and via phone, and we are providing curbside pickup for our local customers. Our retail storefront will remain closed until at least May 19, 2021. At that time, we will reassess the situation and consider reopening our storefront for walk-in business and resuming in-person classes.. Our main concern is the health and safety of our employees and our customers. More than half our employees have worked here for over 20 ye...ars, so perhaps it is not surprising that the majority of us are also over 60 years old, unfortunately putting us in the vulnerable high risk category for COVID-19. We want to keep them healthy so they can continue to help fill orders and answer questions for all of our customers. We look forward to the time when it will feel safe for us to reopen the retail store. In the meantime we are especially grateful for your patience and understanding. https://www.highlandwoodworking.com/cv.html
We hear from a lot of customers who find the Festool sandpaper options downright confusing. So we asked Jim Dillon to help us understand which Festool Sandpaper to buy. He explains the best options for general sanding, raw wood, finishing, shaping and more. Jim creates an easy guide so you can remember Festool Sandpaper types and uses. https://www.highlandwoodworking.com/b/festoolabrasives.html
April Woodworking Poll: In this month’s Wood News Online, Bob Rummer discusses several heirloom pieces of furniture that have recently undergone a variety of breaks and scratches. According to Bob, When we are looking broken-ness in the face, the first step is a decision to fix or not. We compare the cost and difficulty of repairing an item against the cost of getting a new one. This month we’re wondering what do you do with a broken piece of wooden furniture?https://blog.woodworkingtooltips.com//april-2021-woodwork/
