Middle School Field Day 2021 was a great success! Lots of fun was had by all! Thank you Coach Andrew for creating a day to remember.

Congratulations to the Preschool and Elementary/Middle School Teachers of the 2020-2021 school year! What awesome recognition during this most unusual year! Thank you Ms. Pilar and Ms. Wendy for inspiring the children of McGinnis Woods!

These students have created amazing art using chalk pastels, paper mache, paint, and print making. The 8th graders created colorful explosion books and intricate owls, too.

Wax Museum 2021! Our third graders dressed up as and taught us all about many famous people including: John Lennon, Leonardo da Vinci, Jane Goodall, Amelia Earhart, and many, many more!

The PreK students had fun at the Q and U wedding today. Every child dressed as a Letter Person and promised to always make kind words together. The celebration ended by the releasing of butterflies the children had raised!

We had another great visit with a scientist from High Touch High Tech. We learned all about sound and vibrations in a fun way!

Golf! We have been thrilled to have our golfers playing this spring! This week they will play in their last outing before the championship. Great job golfers!

Pre K students enjoyed an in-house field trip with Chattahoochee Nature Center. They learned all about trees and nature. They pretended they were trees, made clay imprints with clay and tree parts, drew their own Forest art, and built nests and houses out of sticks and bark.

Congratulations to each of our Middle School Spelling Bee participants. The school winner is Ben and the runner up is Mackenzie! The winner and runner up will advance to the GISA virtual Bee in February.

My children set their own alarm to get up now. I don’t have to nag them out of bed and down to breakfast. They check off completed assignments and plan activities to reach their goals.... I don’t have to stand over them and ask what hasn’t been done. Last night, I found them screen sharing with another student to help him with math. Distance learning has helped them sharpen digital competencies, improve time management, and learn independently. My little ones are growing up so fast I’m not sure whether to clap or cry Maybe both At McGinnis Woods, we are currently offering in-person and ClassFusion distance instruction in accordance with CDC guidelines for safety.

Our preschoolers enjoy learning about the world around them through play and friendships!

The third graders completed an interesting experiment to determine which liquid a candy cane would dissolve in the quickest. They honed their observational skills and enjoyed working with their teams.

Our word of the month is GENEROSITY. The K/1 and 1st graders built stuffed bears to give away to children going through health issues. Their love and kindness will be sure to brighten others’ days. Our 3 year olds were shopping with the Holiday Shoppe elves to spread joy, too!
