After last week's commercial spoof (titled, The Car Commercial) which demonstrated how the right #VO makes all the difference, I thought it might be good to share what worked for the #genesis G70. I was patched in to Korea at 11pm and the session ran a couple hours. Thankfully, my engineer stayed late to help, so I could focus on the performance. It's one thing getting/taking direction in the U.S. It's a whole other animal when you are communicating with a highly creative per...son, who speaks English, but you could tell there was still something #lostintranslation. We both intuitively understood that, and, w/a little patience he got the read he wanted...and I could wipe the sweat off, finally. :) Had so much fun and what a great concept! I call this, "The Car Commercial". It might just be my best work to date (well the 2nd half). :) I wrote it as if Mike Stoudt Productions, Inc. was creating an advertisement for www.mikeSTOUDT.com and my VO business. When you're putting out a message, you invest money into every aspect. And just like when you can spot a bad actor in a movie or show, so also can you tell when a piece doesn't fit. Anything visual or audio is a craft...a specialty. Choose wisely. And thanks to a...ll my agents who trust in me to continue to invest in the craft. I can't stress enough, that no one knows what the future holds! And this especially follows for our careers, or for a #voicetalent, their very next booking! Something you audition for, thinking that it's a one-off, could turn out to be a campaign spanning a decade! That was the case in this - the last of a 4-part commercial series - on my #sourpatchkids #commercials. I booked first through #lorilinsltd and then years later when they wanted to update, through my management com...pany #acmtalent. The point that I have to remind myself of is that there is hope and there is endless possibility! BE READY for those opportunities, enjoy the process, and then revel when you get to do an awesome campaign (and then at the same time, get addicted to an amazing candy)! :) I still can't get enough of these Maynards Sour Patch Kids.
