Our inpatient covid-19 positive patients discharged is 201. As the number of positive cases continues to rise across the county, we’d like to encourage anyone w...ho has been positive and is now well to donate plasma. SGMC is participating in the convalescent plasma treatment clinical trial with Mayo Clinic. So far, the study shows that patients treated early on with the plasma have a better outcome. The problem is- sometimes it takes a while to receive the plasma because of low availability. If you donate plasma at our local LifeSouth Community Blood Centers facility and mention SGMC, the donated plasma will go directly to our hospital to help treat our covid-19 patients. It’s a wonderful way to pay it forward and help those who are currently fighting this virus.
