Haven Gunter is a member of the Class of 2021! She has been active in high school majorettes for 4 years (1 year as Captain), Varsity Golf - 1 year (the girls golf team won 2-AA Region Champions this year!), and competitive twirling for 6 years. She is a member of National Honors Society, Beta Club - 4 years, FFA - 3 years, HOSA - 4 years (1 year as fundraising coordinator & 1 year Vice President), interact club - 2 years, and Key club - 2 years. She was voted Miss Homecoming... Senior Class 2021. In the Fall, Haven plans to attend Kennesaw State University to major in Nursing with hopes to be a nurse practitioner or a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. Congratulations, Haven! Class of 2021!

Javian Thomas is a member of the Class of 2021! Javian is going to Athens Tech to study and will be working as a mechanic. Congratulations Javian - Class of 2021!

Shelby Rae Self is a member of the Class of 2021! She has been active in Varisty Cheerleading, Track her junior year, and pageants. She is currently Miss Oglethorpe OCHS. She plans to enter the workforce while attending school to obtain her EMT/Paramedic certification in the fall.... Congratulations, Shelby Rae - Class of 2021!

The Oglethorpe Patriot Girls Track team were celebrated like the ROCKSTARS that they are!

I read this today and it hit close to home. Even though this was not from our school system or perhaps even state, it’s happening everywhere. We never know what is happening behind closed doors. We are fortunate that our kids are in school 5 days a week, but check on friends and relatives who may not be that fortunate.

It’s a Championship kinda of day in Oglethorpe County!!! Our OCMS Lady Patriots Basketball Team defeated Prince Ave today and will play Monday evening at OCMS for the Middle School Championship!! Excellent job!!!

Patriots beat Lovett in the semi-finals! Championship at 3:00 against Dade County!

Good luck to our Mat Pats as the travel to Lamar County for the state wrestling championship! The team has been working hard every day for this opportunity! Let’s congratulate our high school and all our faculty and staff in the system for the part they play in our high school graduation rate. Last year our graduation rate was an impressive 94.81%. This year ... drum roll please ... 96.43%. This is IMPRESSIVE - but even more so that it was achieved during a pandemic!
